Introduction
A new version of ThinLinc has been released. This is a minor update to the 3.1.1 version. For more information about the previous release, please see the release notes available at http://www.cendio.com/resources/docs/relnotes/3.1.1 .
Changes in This Release

Server
- ThinLinc works on most modern Linux distributions and Sun
Solaris (R). This release has been extensively tested on the
following platforms:
- Red Hat (R) Enterprise Linux 5 (64-bit)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 (R) (32-bit)
- Ubuntu (R) 9.10 (32-bit)
- Sun Solaris (R) 10
Note: The 64-bit version of SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop is currently not recommended, since it does not provide a full 32-bit environment.
- It is now possible to specify that certain users should be redirected to designated agents. (3582)
- A race condition in VSM agent could cause the service to terminate. This has been corrected. (3593)
- Submitting a print job to the "thinlocal" queue with an invalid user name could stop the queue. This has been corrected. (3402)
- The installer did not work correctly on some systems lacking 32-bit libraries. This has been fixed. (3512)
- The previous release could not be installed on 64-bit Debian based systems because such systems does not use /lib for 32-bit libraries. The installer now translates the paths accordingly. (3601)
- In some cases, the client screen was updated incorrectly. Black stripes or boxes could be seen. In particular, this happened when either the server or client was running Solaris (but not both), and the client requested 16 bit images. (3591)
- The OpenGL (GLX) support has been enhanced. The Mesa software has been upgraded to version 7.6.1, and several issues have been resolved. (2770, 3615, 3621)
Client
- The previous release of the Linux client (3.1.1) contains a defect which causes the client to disconnect when transferring large amounts of data using the Local Drive Redirection. This problem has been fixed. (3581)
Smart Card Support
- A problem related to session disconnect upon smart card removal has been fixed. This happened if the certificate selection dialog was activate during login. A common scenario when this can happen is when the screen saver is deactivated using the space bar key. (3548)
- A stability problem with the smart card redirection system (pcsctun) has been resolved. (3594)
- With earlier clients, the client required administrator privileges for smart card authentication when running on Windows Vista. This is no longer necessary. (2857)
Windows (R) Integration
- The Webmin module for monitoring server load now handles multiple application server groups. (2914)
- The WTS Tools "Load Agent" in release 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 incorrectly calculates the swap file usage. This release resolves this problem. (3436)
- The 32-bit version of the ThinLinc GINA for Actice Directory Smart Card environments was not functional in the 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 release. This has been corrected. (3578)
